Shirley M. Smith, age 84, of Milford, beloved wife of the late Richard G. Smith, passed away on Thursday, April 1, 2010 in Milford Hospital. Daughter of the late Carl and Mary Miller Smith, she was born on April 28, 1925 in Fairfield. She was an avid photographer, was part of a quilting group with friends in Huntington, and loved to tell a good story. Shirley is survived by her devoted children, Nancy Smith Mello and her husband Keith of Hamden, Paul R. Smith and his wife Carla of Branford, and Richard G. Smith and his wife Betty of Monroe, GA, and five cherished grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Mello, Brian and Timothy Smith, and Jeffrey Allen. She also leaves a great granddaughter, Rachel Allen, two sisters, Marjorie Miller of Milford and Jane Horan and her husband William of Arizona, and two brothers, Bradford Miller and his wife Norma of Trumbull and Wilbur Miller of Oregon.
