Ruth M. Richardson passed peacefully, family holding her hand, on July 23, 2020, in Gulf Breeze, Florida. She was born in Ethelsville, Alabama on October 5, 1930, the daughter of Reverend Thomas Fletcher McReynolds and Lovie Ann Smith. She is now happily with the Good Lord she prayed to through this life’s hills and valleys.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edsel A Richardson. They operated Richardson’s Lampshades in Tallahassee for many years. She enjoyed talking with customers, helping them to choose the right shade or enhancement for their home.
Mrs. Richardson was also preceded in death by her three sisters – Martha Johnson (Frank) of Florida, Sarah Baldwin (Jerry) of Texas and Elise Sasso (Burton) of Florida.
Surviving her are son, Rick Richardson (Karen) of Florida; daughter, Debbie Macioce of North Carolina; grandchildren, Stephanie Richardson of Georgia, Laura Russell (Kevin) of Florida, Rob Macioce (Tanese) of New Jersey, Carol Macioce of North Carolina; and great-grandchildren, Ward Russell, Marla and Morris Macioce.
She took the role of matriarch for those who lost their parents or grandparents too early. She gave counsel where she could, always helping those in need and sharing her wisdom and guidance with all.
