Ruth Cox Herrick, 90, of Tallahassee, Florida, peacefully passed away on Monday January 28, 2019, at her home.
Daughter of the late Daniel W. Cox and Ruth Weaver Cox, of blessed memory, she was born in Baltimore, Maryland on September 30, 1928. She spent her career as a dedicated employee at Westinghouse, retiring after more than forty years of service. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting and play solitaire on the computer. When friends and family were around, she would love to play cards and dice. Most of all she found happiness in watching her Ravens go to the Super Bowl! Even though she was 90 she thrived in keeping up with friends, family and politics on Facebook. She loved her family and was a very devoted, caring, beautiful individual.
Survivors include her children, Patricia Utermohle (husband, Jack), Brian Herrick, and Judith Fowler (husband, Michael); grandchildren, Bridgette Utermohle, Galen Utermohle (wife, Lindsey); Clair Herrick; great-grandchild, Delilah Magruder. Also surviving are other extended family members and friends.
“You are my sunshine, my only sunshine, you make me happy, when skies are grey
You’ll never know, dear, how much I love you, please don’t take my sunshine away
The other night, dear, As I lay sleeping, I dreamed I held you in my arms
When I awoke, dear, I was mistaken, please don’t take my sunshine away
Please don’t take my sunshine away.”
