Rose Ann Barber Allen, 89, of Thomasville, Georgia, peacefully passed away Sunday, March 20, 2016, surrounded by her loving family.
A daughter of the late Leo David Barber, Sr., and Martha Alice Fernandez Barber, she was born July 18, 1926, in Ybor City. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, James Hunter Allen, and five siblings. She was a homemaker, worked as a welder during the war, and later, worked as a cigar maker. A faithful member of All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Thomasville, Georgia. She was devoted to and deeply loved her family. She is survived by her children, Henrietta Walter (Ebe), Brenda Weisiger, and James Hunter Allen, Jr. (Tracy); grandchildren, Ebe Walter, Jr. (Shannon), Jenny Ladson (Bill), Michelle Oliva (Armando), Allison Weisiger, Lisa Gans (Joey), James Hunter Allen, III, Madison Allen, and Tucker Allen; great-grandchildren, Olivia Walter, Drew Walter, Will Ladson, Simms Ladson, Jacqueline Oliva, Evan Gans, and Amelie Gans. She is also survived by her siblings, Leo Barber (Mary), Herman Barber (Linda), and Nancy Prall (Bob).
