Mrs. Romanus H. “Ron” Darrah, 92, of Goshen and formerly of Bristol, passed away Wednesday evening, Nov. 14, 2012, at The Maples at Waterford Crossing in Goshen.

She was born Aug. 9, 1920. in Portage du Fort, Quebec, Canada, to the late Joseph O’Kane and Catherine Elizabeth (Loonam) Cameron. She married Wallace L. “Wally” Darrah on Oct. 29, 1949, in Detroit. Wally passed away Dec. 18, 1998.

Surviving are a son, Neil W. (Rose) Darrah of Granger; daughters Ellen (Jim) Schenk and Paula (Gary) Morris of Elkhart, Paulette (Rick) Minix of Edwardsburg, Mich., and Lynn (Tom) Reed of Fayetteville, Ga.; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and sister Ruth Battishill of Three Rivers, Mich.

Her brothers, Joe, Robert, Edmond and Owen Cameron, and sisters Nell Coyne, Vera and Bertha Cameron and Fern Cahill preceded her in death.

Ron, as she was known to her family and friends, was a homemaker and formerly worked in the office at MHS Supply in Elkhart and was co-owner along with her husband, Wally, of R.D. Industries in Elkhart. Ron also worked at TUCO Corporation and Bristol Laminating. Ron was a 1938 graduate of St. Gregory (Mich.) High School and was a longtime member of St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church.
