” And remember, anytime you see a strawberry, think of Mrs. Peggy.”
Mrs. Peggy Williams Minton, age 65, of Lanett, Alabama went to celebrate with Jesus on Saturday, April 22nd, 2017, at her home in Lanett.
Peggy was born on November 3rd, 1951, in Hogansville, Georgia to the late Loy and Bettie Williams.
Mrs. Peggy leaves, to cherish her memory, her husband of thirty-nine years, Thomas M. Minton, her two children, Marshall Loy Minton, and Sandra Lacy Minton Hackney, (Benjamin William Hackney), granddaughter, Sadie-Anne Grace Hackney, grandson, Mason William Hackney, and her mother-in-law, Dorothea (Dot) Minton. Peggy also precedes in death her brother, Richard Sidney Williams (Sharon), of LaGrange, Georgia, six nieces, two nephews and a host of great-nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Minton taught school for forty years, teaching second through eighth graders at Valdosta Elementary School, Troup County Junior High, Lanett Central Elementary, Harris County-Carver Middle School and Calloway Middle School.
Peggy’s true passion was cooking. She even prepared the celebration meal for the service on Saturday as an opportunity to serve her friends one more time. She loved designing wedding cakes and crafted each one with special love. In her “spare time”, she enjoyed flying single-engine airplanes and driving the “Big Yellow Bus”. And remember, anytime you see a strawberry, think of Mrs. Peggy.
