Patricia Ann (Barisch) Grosvenor, 75, took her last breath on earth and her first in Heaven on May 5, 2017 in Tallahassee, FL. She was surrounded by her loving family when she passed away peacefully and with grace. Pat was born in Chicago, IL on May 25, 1941 and lived in Tallahassee from 1970 until her death.
She was a graduate of Mid-County High School (1959 Varna, IL) and met the love of her life, Jim Grosvenor, while attending Southern Illinois University. Jim took one look and knew she was the one meant for him. They married October 28, 1961 in East St. Louis, IL and were together 45 years until his death in 2006. The couple made their way to Melbourne, Florida in 1963, when Jim accepted a position with Boeing Corporation. In 1970, they relocated to Tallahassee where Pat was employed by Killearn Properties and then the Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce. In 1976, she began working in sales/catering at the Tallahassee Hilton and remained a hard working and highly respected leader in the hotel industry for thirty years. She retired in 2007 as Director of Sales and Marketing for Park Plaza Hotel (formerly Radisson Hotel).
Pat had a love for life that began early and never stopped. Early on, she played the piano, was a member of 4-H, a cheerleader in high school and joined the Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority in college. Later, she enjoyed serving/volunteering through her church, delivered for Meals on Wheels and always looked forward to spending time with her Bible Study ladies. She loved Elvis, classical music, the Seminoles and especially time spent at Alligator Point, which soothed her soul.
She is survived by her loving children, Jason Grosvenor and his wife, Terresa; daughter, Melissa Grosvenor; granddaughters, Taylor Grosvenor and Jennifer (Erickson-Brown) Lisk; her brother, Chuck Barisch and his wife, Marianne; her brother, George Barisch and his wife, Mary Louise; and her nieces and nephews (and their families), Mike Barisch, Bobby Barisch, Ann (Barisch) Blue, Brian Barisch, Kelli Barisch, Erin Barisch and Brandon Barisch, all of Illinois. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Parker Grosvenor and her parents, Charles Louis and Flora Helen Barisch of Toluca, IL.
Pat was an adored wife, a devoted and loving mother and an incredible friend to so many incredible people. She could capture anyone’s heart with her sparkling smile. There are no sufficient words to express the loss her family and friends feel, but there is comfort in knowing she has been reunited with Jim and welcomed into the loving arms of God.
