Mrs. Mary Virginia Hollis, 82, of Valley, Alabama passed away peacefully on February 12, 2017 at Magnolia Place in Auburn, Alabama after a life spent caring for her loved ones.
Mrs. Hollis was born October 21, 1934 in Roanoke, Alabama, the only child of the late Gregory Earl Mathews and Lillian Sims Mathews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Hollis; daughters, Jane Ann and Sharon Hollis; and her oldest grandson, Jason Richard Crowley.
She will be forever missed by her daughter, Patricia Crowley (Rick) of Auburn, and sons, Alan Hollis of Valley, and Chris Hollis (Audrey) of Opelika as well as her grandchildren, Michael Crowley of Atlanta, Kelley Crowley (Dylan) of Birmingham and Katie Hollis of Valley; great-grandchild, Caleb Nolan.
Virginia lived most of her life in Valley, Alabama and spent many years working for Valley Medical Group and George H. Lanier Memorial Hospital, until finally retiring at 79 years of age. She was beloved by all who knew her because of her sweet spirit, enduring smile and her selfless devotion to her family and friends.
