Mrs. Mary Lee Vaughn, age 91, a long time resident of Tallahassee died Friday, August 6, 2021.

She was born on January 28, 1930, in Whigham, Georgia, to Tifton and Amanda Martin Mills. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Bartow Rufus Vaughn; son, Vincent Vaughn; and sisters, Lois Chason, Elizabeth Haire and Josephine Miller.

Ms. Vaughn and her husband moved to Tallahassee when he retired from the military. She worked for the State of Florida, Division of Motor Vehicles, as a clerk for many years. She was an outstanding, loving and caring woman.

While Ms. Vaughn had no specific hobbies, she loved to watch a long running daytime soap opera, The Young and the Restless; being such a dedicated viewer that her family wouldn’t even call her on the phone during the time the show was on. She also enjoyed watching people dance, enjoyed country music with George Straight being one of her favorite country artists, enjoyed old time gospel music, but most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Kathy Myers (Rick), Sandra Stephens (Larry) and Donald Vaughn (Karen); and daughter-in-law, Georgena Vaughn. She is also survived by grandchildren, Wendy Renee Worden, Douglas Gregory Vaughn, Jennifer Cogdill and Jason Vaughn; and eleven great-grandchildren.
