The Beginning: Charles Arthonia Livingston

Charles Arthonia Livingston was born February 17, 1923 in Athens, Georgia to the proud parents of Arthur and Eleanor Livingston.

Charles was educated in the Atlanta Public School System and received his diploma from Washington High School.

Charles Livingston worked for Lockheed Aircraft Corp. for 10 years, had the privilege of working with a team of engineers on the C-5A Bomber Jet. He later joined the General Electric Corp. (G.E.) for 20 years and retired as a machinist.

The Beginning: Martha Louise Johnson-Livingston

Martha Louise Johnson-Livingston was born July 8, 1928 in Atlanta, Georgia to Abraham and Mammie Johnson.

Martha attended Washington High School.  She worked for the Kodak Company as a photo-processor and completed her working career as a health care provider at Emory Hospital as well as cared for patients in a private sector.

The Livingston’s

Charles Livingston and Martha Johnson met and fell in love at Booker T. Washington High School in Atlanta, Georgia. This union was sanctified on March 3, 1948 and was blessed with six children: the late David Cortez, the late Reginald Bernard Livingston, Barbara Jean Livingston, Charles “Tony” Livingston, Michael Lewis Livingston, and Kenneth “Doc” Livingston, Sr.

This blessed union leaves to cherish their memories: four children, Barbara Jean Livingston, Charles “Tony” (Corrie) Livingston, Michael Lewis Livingston, and Kenneth (Bobbi) Livingston, Sr.; nine grandchildren, Charles (Wanda) Muhammad Livingston, Kareem Livingston, Traci M., David C. Jr. Michael D. Livingston, Stephanie Carter, Kenneth II and Corbin M. Livingston; five great-grandchildren; devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved friends.   

Mrs. Livingston was preceded in death by one brother, Reverend Abram Ernest Johnson. She also leaves to cherish her memories: two sisters, Theodora Johnson Roberson and Kathryn Johnson Broughton; sister-in-law, Barbara Moon Johnson all of Atlanta, Georgia.
