Marlene Jane Holweger Jones, 80, a resident of Tallahassee, peacefully passed into the loving arms of Jesus on Friday, December 16, 2016, at home, while surrounded by her loving family. A daughter of the late Joseph H. Holweger, Sr. and the late Irene Molstad Holweger, she was born January 31, 1936, in Northwood, North Dakota. She is also preceded in death by a brother, Joseph H. Holweger, Jr. In 1970, while in North Dakota, she, along with her children, Jody, Jeff, Dave, Cindy and Debbie, met Howard O. Jones, and his five children, Sue, Naomi, Gloria, Sonny and Buddy. Marlene and Howard married in 1971 and moved to Tallahassee with their family. She was a retired educator and social worker, and belonged to the Women of the Moose Lodge, the American Legion Auxiliary, the Ladies of the VFW, St. Michael’s Altar Society, the Garden Club and the Retired Educator’s Association. She was a believer in Christ and lived a Christian life. In addition to her husband and children, Debbie Foley, Dave B. Foley, Cindy Foley Gibson, Jeff Foley and Jody Foley Henderson (Vernon), she is survived by numerous grandchildren, including the three that they raised in their home, Davey Foley, Holly Foley and Tia Gibson; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins; a brother, Jerome (Jan) Holweger; and a sister, Joan Schulz.
