Margaret Joan Renaud Norwood died Tuesday, May 18, 2010, in Metairie, LA.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Samuel L. Norwood, Jr. She is survived by daughter, Patricia Travasos (Luke), Memaw to her grandchildren: Joshua S. Norwood (Lana) of Michigan, Craig M., Lucas J., Jr. (Amanda) and Gina M. Travasos; one great-grandson, Chad Michael McGuire, Jr., and daughter-in-law: Ellen H. Norwood.
Joan was born in New Orleans and graduated from McMain High School in 1943. She retired from Asbestos Workers in 1985. And later retired in Hot Springs Village, AR for 18 years before moving back to Louisiana.
Heartfelt thanks to the dedicated staff of Serenity Senior Residence for their excellent care. Special gratitude to the compassionate nurses and staff of Hospice Compassus who oversaw Mom’s care. They all made this year happy and dignified for her. She became a N.O. Saints fan at 86 years old.
