Linda Mears Hill, 74, of Tallahassee, Florida, peacefully passed away on Sunday, October 24, 2021, at the Big Bend Hospice House. Born in Bainbridge, Georgia on May 19, 1947, she was the only daughter of Lenard Mears, Sr. and Maizie Inez Williams Mears, of blessed memory.
She is also preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Danny Ray Hill; and a brother, Lenard Mears, Jr. After moving to Tallahassee from Sneads, Florida in 1963, she went to work as a Data Entry Processor for the Florida Department of Highway Safety, where she worked for 38 years, retiring in 2002, as a Data Entry Supervisor. A devoted member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church, she enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Hill; bonus daughters, Kinita Bishop and Cherry Mobley Harris; grandchildren, Robert “RJ” Montgomery (wife, Ashley), Jackson Montgomery and Wade Varnum; and great-grandson, Cash Montgomery. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
