Mrs. Lillian Womble Jones, age 85 of 437 Clarence McKeithen Road, Sanford, N.C. passed on Tuesday, October 12,2010 at Siler City Care & Rehab., Siler City, N.C.
Lillian Womble Jones (Lit) was born on February 4, 1925 to the late Ernest and Minnie Thompson Womble. She was called home by the Lord on Tuesday, October 12, 2010.
Lillian grew up in Gulf, N.C. and graduated from Goldston High School and later attended Lutheran Junior College. In 194l she married the Kemp Jones and from that union they had one daughter, Mavis O. Jones- Robinson.
Lillian continued her practice as a nurse when she moved to Philadelphia, PA and retired her career as a nurse with the Philadelphia Naval Hospital Department of Defense. Upon her retirement she returned to her birth home in Gulf, N.C.
No wake is scheduled.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her daughter, Mavis Robinson; one granddaughter, Kim Robinson; two grandsons, James Robinson and Tim Robinson; one great granddaughter, Jayla C. Martin all from Philadelphia, PA.
She will be missed by her two nieces, Annie Mildred Hill (Leory) of North Carolina and Earlene Mitchell (Al) of Philadelphia, PA and three nephews, James Womble (Josie) of Sanford, NC, John Curry (Judy) of North Carolina and Patrick Womble (Shante) of North Carolina.
Lillian survived all of her siblings and left to cherish her memories are several brothers and sisters-in law: William Clark from California, Irene Jones of New York, Gleanor Carrington of New York, James W.
