Lillian Francis Crawford was born on July 23, 1930 to Nora Lee Crawford (Bainbridge, GA) and Thomas Ivor Crawford (Brinson, GA). She was the eldest of five siblings and was followed by Emogene Pritchard (deceased), Clara Nell Phillips, William Thomas Crawford (deceased), and Judy Tricquet.
Lillian commenced her formative education in Bainbridge, GA and went on to graduate from Jordan High School in Columbus, GA. Deeply interested in the business industry, Lillian pursued studies at Jones Business College in Albany, GA, from which she graduated with highest honors. Soon after she met and married Frank Nickerson, a US Navy veteran. To this union were born her first two children, Deborah “Debbie” Jean Behnke (nee Nickerson) and Rebecca “Becky” Ann Smith (nee Nickerson).
Lillian later divorced Frank and moved to Tallahassee, FL, flaming her passion for bookkeeping/accounting through continued education at Lively Vocational Institute. Immediately after completing this program, Lillian accepted professional employment as an Administrative Secretary under John Brown at the Leon County Tax Assessor’s Office, where she remained for 17 years. It was through her work at the Tax Assessor’s Office that Lillian met and married David Shelby Walker, III. To this union were born one son, David Walker, IV, and one daughter, Cynthia “Cindy” Diane Walker (deceased).
Lillian Walker’s professional career came full-circle when she transitioned into insurance, and later, into a licensed real estate agency with her husband. She joined the staff at the prestigious firms such as Investors Realty, Arvida Realty, and Joseph Serpico Real Estate. Lillian excelled in her profession and developed a reputation for excellence in real estate sales. Having earned numerous titles, honors and awards over the years, Lillian retired at the age of 73 years.
She is survived by 2 sisters – Clara and Judy, 3 children – Debbie, Becky and David, Jr., and one brother-in-law – George Keith Walker, Sr. Also remaining are a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews (George K. Walker, Jr.), and friends. Among the grandchildren are: Nora Behnke, Matthew Behnke, Cindy Smith and Troy Smith. Great grandchildren include Nadine and Naomi Johnson, twins. Her nieces include: Pam Fergerson (nee Pritchard), Lawanna Morrow (nee Phillips), Rose Denise Bauer (nee Phillips), Kim Robin Phillips, and Beverly Winters (nee Giles). Nephews are: Michael Pritchard (deceased), Timothy Pritchard, Jeffrey Pritchard, and James Walter Giles. Grand nephews are: Dusty Fergerson, Jason Fergerson, Michael Wayne Pritchard, J.T., Corey Pritchard, Chadwick Bauer, and Jeremy Winters. There is one grand niece, Cassie Pritchard, as well as Carolyn Pritchard, the wife of a deceased nephew.
Lillian Francis Walker leaves behind many cherished memories with family, friends, guardians and caregivers. Away from all the pain and suffering, we believe that she is in a better place, safe in the arms of Jesus Christ! Until we meet again, may her soul rest in peace!
