Kathy Rae Murray, 68, a resident of Tallahassee, formerly from Illinois, passed away while surrounded by her loving children on Wednesday, August 2, 2017, in Tallahassee. Born on April 16, 1949, in Urbana, Illinois, she was a daughter of Donald and Roberta Mae Cooper Manter, of blessed memory. She was a very proud and devoted music teacher, mentoring and inspiring numerous young people throughout her career. She is survived by three children, Dr. Robert Murray, (wife, Dr. Mary A. Murray), Karilyn Rae Murray and Kristin Marie Murray; and a brother, Richard “Dick” Manter.
