Reflections of Life

Judith Inez Nell Davis Christie was born January 16, 1959, in Pompano, Florida into the loving family of the late Minnie Jewell and Angrish Lee “Pete” Davis. She expanded her love for family on October 12, 1992, when she married the love of her life Michael Christie. Together they raised Michael Jr., Tyrell, and Tedrick and infused them with the importance of knowing family and extended family.

”Nell” received her education from Nova High School in Fort Lauderdale and attended Broward Community College.

Nell was full of surprises and often took the road less traveled.  She was a business woman who held traditional and untraditional jobs. One of her first careers was driving tractor- trailers.

Multi-talented, Judith liked to cook, eat, shop, fish, sew, braid, and attend family functions.  She could stretch a dollar. Not only did she make clothes for Tedrick and Tyrell, she insisted they wear the outfits to school.  At family cookouts, she never arrived with “swinging hands” but always showed up with a unique dish for all to taste. She enjoyed being able to host the Riley Davis Family Reunion in Brunswick, where the full array of her skills as a planner, decorator, and host were highlighted.

She was tall in stature and character. She was bighearted, caring, and meant what she said. If anyone needed something, she would try to be there one way or another. Her strength and resolve were most evident when she faced challenges.  It was then that she became resilient and motivated.

Judith became a member of Philadelphia Christian Center in Ft. Lauderdale and joined the Eternal House of Refuge when she moved to Jesup.

She was escorted from this life on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 in Jesup, Georgia following a long illness.  She was preceded in death by her brother Alvin Durane Davis, her sister, Cheryl, her best friend June Utley, her fathers-in-law George Spence and Douglas Christie.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory and celebrate her life: her husband Michael, her sons Tyrell Christie of Fort Lauderdale and Tedrick Christie of Jesup, and Michael Christie Jr. of West Palm Beach, Fl, and her grandchildren: Tyrell Davis, Ky’Anna Christie, Malaysia Christie, Lee’Yanna Christie, Renee Christie, and Riley Davis Christie (deceased). She will also be missed by her mother-in law, Theresa Spence; sisters-in-law: Claudette Glaze Butcher, Shellet Henry, Arrika Davis Carter, and brother-in-law Milton Christie; her aunts: Annie Jewell  Dismuke of Fort Lauderdale, Rosena Tippins, Louise Doomes , and Allene Davis of Jesup, Kay Davis of Atlanta, GA, Gay Davis of Valdosta, GA and her uncles Willie (Sandra) Davis of Beaufort, SC, Arthur Dennison of Fort Lauderdale and Billy Williams of Fort Lauderdale, “godfamily”: The Randolph Family, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
