Jeanne Shelton Williams, age 86, of Milford, beloved wife of James F. Williams, Sr. departed this life surrounded by her loving family on March 5, 2012. Jeanne was born in Bridgeport CT on September 16, 1925 to the late Thomas D. and Ethel Sinkler Shelton.
A devoted educator by training and passion, she taught school for over 28 years, most of it in the Bridgeport Public School system. A life long member of St.
Jeanne was an avid traveler and connoisseur of the arts. She and her “crew” frequented the Oakdale Theater, Westport Playhouse, the NY theater scene and Tanglewood. Her travels took her around the world- from China to Greece to Italy. One of her favorite trips was to space camp.
Jeanne was predeceased by her parents, brothers George and Thomas Shelton, son, Jeffrey Williams, and daughter-in-law, Burnetta Williams.
Survivors include, son James Williams Jr. of Memphis, TN, daughters, Janis Greene (Maurice) of Clinton, MD, and Jennifer Ramos (Jeffrey) of Woodbridge, CT; seven grandchildren, Nicole Hammonds, Joseph Hammonds, Christopher Williams, Jordan Ramos, Alexandra Ramos, Olivia Ramos, Victoria Ramos; and three great grandchildren, Timoni Hammonds, Jayla Hammonds, and Tristan Williams.
