Irma Hess Hartman, age 84, passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2009. She was born on July 7, 1924 in New Orleans, LA, child of the late George Hess, Sr. and Elizabeth Ricks Hess. A long time resident of St. Bernard Parish, due to Hurricane Katrina’s major disruption of Mrs. Hartman beloved life in Chalmette, LA, she became a resident of Luling, LA in 2005. Wife of the late Raymond F. Hartman, she is survived by her only daughter, Jernell Savage, husband Clint; grandchildren, Lantz Savage, wife Rachel and Kori Savage, husband Todd Bourgeois; two great-grandchildren, Xander Savage and Korinne Bourgeois; brother, Marion Hess, Sr. and his wife Jean; a host of nieces and nephews with special thanks to Melissa Hess and Mathias Kern for their continued love and devotion; and special friends and Angels of Mercy, Sherri and Harvey Mabile, who came into her life when they retrieved her and returned her safely home as she wandered the streets of her new city of residence and remained her guardian angels until her death, both a reflection of what we all should strive to become as individuals. She was preceded in death by brothers, William, Joseph and George Hess; sisters Mary Ackermann, Anna Wickbolt, Janet Kern, Julia Leitz, and Helen Hanley. Irma’s family extends their sincere thanks and appreciation for all of your deeds of goodwill and love extended to us during this time.
