Helen Stewart Sizemore, 87, of Tallahassee, formerly of Gainesville, Florida, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2020, with her daughter and son-in-law at her side in her home.

A daughter of the late Henry Clyde and Helen Catherine Thompson Stewart, she was born on November 5, 1932, in Cerro Gordo, North Carolina. She moved to Charlotte, North Carolina at the age of 20 where she began her career at Southern Bell. During her 31 years, she advanced her way up to the position of Plant Assigner, the first woman to hold that position with the company, before retiring in 1987. She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Marvin Paul Sizemore; son, Alan Paul Sizemore; and nine siblings.

Survivors include her daughter, Paulette Melinda Sizemore McFadden and her husband, Stephen Lee McFadden; and numerous nieces and nephews. An avid reader, she loved to play cards and games with friends and family. She enjoyed traveling, visiting many U.S. states, Israel, Europe, and many cruises to the eastern and western Caribbean. She also enjoyed arts and crafts.
