Gwendolyn Vee Watgen Ellefson, fondly known as “Granny”, passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2018.
A daughter of the late Gordon Virgil and Genevieve Veeronica Balita Watgen, she was born on July 18, 1944, in Elgin, Illinois. Also preceding her in death is a sister, Nancy Jean Beaulieu. She was a customer service representative, who worked at Wal-Mart for many years. A devout Catholic, she was a parishioner at St. Louis Catholic Church. While at church, she loved teaching Sunday School. She loved reading about the Saints, loved all kids she met, and was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Duane I. Ellefson; children, Amy Lynn Smith (husband, Gordon Smith, Sr. and Timothy Dillow (wife, Tia); grandchildren, Brittany Lynn Smith, Gordon Jacob Smith, Kristina Louise Pease (husband, Antonio Pease, Sr.), Summer Lee Smith, Benjamin Charles Dillow and Emma Dillow; great-grandchildren, Gage Lee Prewitt, Draken Xavier Prewitt, Freya Prewitt, Antonio Pease, Jr. and Gordon Smith, Jr.
