Mrs. Frances Vinelle Self Croft Robertson, age 97, of Lanett, Alabama passed away on Sunday, May 28th, 2017 at the EAMC Lanier Memorial Hospital in Valley.
Mrs. Robertson was born in Lanett, Alabama on November 10, 1919 to the late William Jefferson Self and Annie Lee Williams Self.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter Croft; her second husband, Eugene Robertson, Jr; daughter, Faye Croft; stepson, Henry Robertson; sisters, Mary Davis, Helen Dunn, Margaret Aaron; brothers, Bill Self, Tilman Self, Jesse Self.
Mrs. Robertson was born and raised in Lanett, Alabama. At a young age, she sacrificed for her family to go to work in the Lanett Mill. She later returned to school and graduated from Lanett High School and went on to graduate from the Perry School of Business. She was a faithful member of the Lanett First Baptist Church, where she served in many different capacities over the years. She married Eugene Robertson, Jr., later in life, and together they owned and operated Valley Florist.
Her hobbies and interests included ceramics, decorating, and baking for special occasions.
Mrs. Robertson is survived by her children, Walter (Doris) Croft, Valley, Yvonne (Bill) Masten, Valley; stepson, Michael (Linda) Robertson, Russia; sister, Evelyn Cummings, Lanett; sister-in-law, Ida Bess Robertson, Lanett; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; 2 great-great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
