Florine Byrd McComb, born June 14, 1920, passed peacefully from this life to her heavenly home on December 4, 2020. Her 100 years on this earth were filled with many blessings. She loved her family unconditionally and always supported them in their endeavors.
Next to her family, she cherished her faith and was a pillar of her church, participating in everything from cleaning the building, to cooking many delicious meals, to being a prayer warrior. Her heart was broken at the loss of beloved husband, Arthur McComb in 1982 and again for her dear grandson, DaWayne Strickland in 2014.
She was also preceded in death by her parents Wyche Byrd and Alice Stafford Byrd; sisters Marjorie Brown, Myrtice Berryman and Myrl Kinsey. Left to cherish memories are her children, Jeanette McComb, Donna Herren (Walter), Terry McComb (Pam); Grandchildren, Damon Clayton (Connie), Clinton McComb (Shana), Kelly McComb; Grandaughter-in-law, Denise Strickland; Great-Grandchildren, Joshua Clayton, Michael Strickland, Samantha Thompson (Ryan); and numerous other relatives and friends.
