Mrs. Florence Fontaine, age 78 of Andalusia passed away Sunday, October 6, 2013 at her residence after a long battle with cancer.
Florence was from Gansevoort, New York where she raised her children. She worked for many years in manufacturing at Millinckrodt Catheter Company and retired to Alabama in 1990. She spent much of her time doing volunteer work for Acts of Kindness. She was a member of East Highland Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents Florence was preceded in death by 5 sisters, 4 brothers and 1 son John Merriam. Survivors include her children, Elizabeth Harrelson and Bonnie Merriam, both of Alabama, Tina O’Reilly of New York, Michael Fontaine of Georgia, foster sister, Elaine Daigle of New York, sister-in-law, Margaret Lapoint of Alabama, 10 Grandchildren, several great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
