Loving wife and mother, Evelyn Cribbs Presley, 93, was taken by the hand of the Lord to a quieter, gentler place on Saturday, August 15, 2020. Evelyn was born December 25, 1926, and raised in Branford, Florida.
After high school, she moved to Tallahassee to attend Florida State University, where she majored in Home Economics and Elementary Education. FSU is also where she met her husband, Jim, of 70 years in November, 1949, on a blind date. They married 10 weeks later on January 13, 1950. Through the early years of marriage, Evelyn served as an elementary school teacher in Wakulla and Leon Counties and a Home Demonstration Agent in Leon and Liberty Counties. She later became a Curriculum Coordinator at Leonard Wesson and W. T. Moore Schools. Evelyn loved to travel and did so extensively in her 60’s thru 80’s.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Leona Gunter Cribbs Burns; father, Lonnie Levi Cribbs; and daughter-in-law, Kathy Presley.
She is survived by her husband, James Presley; her daughter, Dianne O’Neil (Kelly), and sons, Chad Presley of Tallahassee, Florida Shane Presley (Alita), all of Tallahassee, Florida.
