Ellen Kirkpatrick Jacobs, 90, of Tallahassee, passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at Westminster Oaks, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Vinton, Iowa on October 23, 1931, to Edward and Virginia Kirkpatrick and was preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, Robert Jacobs, and her brother, William Kirkpatrick.
Ellen worked in Civil Service at Patrick Air Force Base, stayed home to raise children, and then worked at Pan Am World Services through which she and Bob traveled the world. Ellen helped employees escape Iran when the Shah fell, managed contractor personnel for the US and Japanese space programs, and corresponded with the Queen of England. Her life was one of service and devotion to God. She was a member of Lafayette Presbyterian Church where she served as a Deacon. She was a Stephen Minister, a Sparkler at Westminster Oaks, and a nurturing friend to countless people. She co-piloted with Bob as they flew small planes around Florida, and could be found on a tractor as they tended the grounds of their church. Above all she was devoted to her family.
Survivors include children, Larry Jacobs, Janet DiDomenico (Dante) and Lynn Lehn (John); grandchildren, Daniel DiDomenico (Amanda), David DiDomenico (Jessica), John Brian Lehn (Carolyn), Timothy Lehn (Kayla), Paul Lehn (Paul Sahnger); and great-grandchildren, Amelia Grace and John Mark Lehn.
