Mrs. Dorothy “Dottie” J. Sigman, age 90, of Valley, Alabama passed away on Saturday, February 10th, 2018 at the EAMC Lanier Nursing Home in Valley.
Mrs. Sigman was born in Bluefield, West Virginia on November 2nd, 1927 to the late John Russell Foster and Cora Freeman Foster.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Sigman; daughter, Anita S. Davis; sisters, Christine Peebles and Virginia M. Mollett; brothers, John Russell Foster, Jr. and William Jessie Foster.
Mrs. Sigman was a practicing Christian.
Mrs. Sigman was a lifelong homemaker spending most of her life creating and making a home for her family. She was a very crafty lady who had the talent and character to make many things that she owned and used each day. She was an excellent seamstress and decorator, who created several decorative items such as draperies, furniture coverings, and other linens.
Her other passions included reading, politics, and being informed on current day events and news.
She is survived by her sons, Jack T. (Jesse) Kennedy, Woodland, Alabama, Gerald (Sheila) Sigman, Valley, Alabama; sister, Annie B. Vickers, Valley, Alabama; son-in-law, Donald (Ruthie) Davis, Lake Harding Community; 7 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
