Doris Louise Heberle, 95, of Tallahassee, Florida, passed away on Friday, March 19, 2021, at Capital Regional Medical Center. Doris was born and raised on her grandfather’s farm in rural Grady County, Georgia. Her family moved to Bainbridge, Georgia where she graduated from Bainbridge High School. During World War II, she met her future husband, John, while he was stationed at an Army Air Corps base in Bainbridge. They married in Bainbridge and moved to Erie, Pennsylvania, where they lived for forty years.
While in Erie, Doris and her husband owned and operated A Country Fair for a number of years. They eventually moved to Tallahassee in order for her to take care of her parents. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and loved to travel, read novels and work crossword puzzles. She had many talents and interests including baking, cooking and sewing for her grandchildren, including sewing elaborate Halloween costumes.
Survivors include her son, Thomas Heberle (wife, Karen); grandchildren, Michael Heberle, Daniel Heberle, Stephanie Gray, Sara Ramos, Paul John Gray, Angela Chmielewski, Jennifer Dobrith and Joseph Heberle; numerous great-grandchildren; siblings, Bronwood Williams and Helen Clayton (husband, Robert); daughters-in-law, Barbara Heberle and Jessica Heberle; son-in-law, Paul Gray; as well as several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are her parents, Earl B. and Loubelia Owens Williams; husband, John Joseph Heberle; children, Michael Heberle, Patricia Ann Gray and James Heberle; and sister, Joyce Coley.
