Diana B. Lima (Bucci), age 54 of Burlington, passed away at home on Friday April 1, 2016, surrounded by family and friends. Diane was born April 25, 1961 in Washington Heights, New York. She graduated from Memorial High School of West New York, NJ, in 1979. She began her professional career right out of high school working in Manhattan as a bookkeeper for Scribner’s, Levi Strauss, and Kenneth Cole. In 1997 Diane began her career with the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
She worked for the Newark, Philadelphia and New York hubs. Diane reluctantly retired one year ago from the NYC office as the Director of Project Management, New York Multifamily Hub. In her earlier years, Diane had a love of Corvettes, motorcycles, horses, boating, and skiing. Her greatest love and passion was her work where she made many life long friends that touched her life and she always hoped she touched theirs. Diane stumbled across the love of her life in 2003 when she met Peg Bucci. Diane and the Lima family were instantly welcomed into the Bucci family where she was introduced to raising kids, large family gatherings, “geriatric club” Sunday dinners, and Jasper stories.
Diane showed Peg and the kids how to live a fun loving life by introducing them to skiing/snowboarding, road trips, Key West, boating, motorcycles, football in the front yard, Yankees, and many more adventurous things. Diane, Peg and the kids gained a second family when they docked their boat at Curtin Marina in 2006 and a decade later their dock family has remained loyal, loving and strong throughout the year- not just boating season. She is survived by her Wife, Peg Bucci, daughter Maggie Bucci, and step-daughter Sasha Yeager.
As well as her mother, Ofelia (nee Blanco) Lima, her brother Dewey Lima(Alica), Aunt Haydee Blanco, and niece and nephew Brianna and Matthew Lima, as well as the rest of the Bucci family; Anthony (Jane), Tom(Pat), Bunky(legend), John(Sue), Ann(Dave), and Teresa(Bernie) and the many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews; and friend Harry Neumann. Diane is preceded in death by her father, Benito Lima; her brother, Dwight Lima; her brother-in-law, Dave Hilgendorff; Mother in Law, Ky Bucci, and Father in Law, Aldo Bucci, and her best friend of 35 years Harriet Neumann.
