Cleta Nichols Griffith, 89, of Tallahassee, Florida, passed away on August 21, 2021, at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare. A daughter of Johnnie Nichols and Minnie Ola Kirkland Nichols, of blessed memory, she was born in Baker, Florida on April 15, 1932.
She is also preceded in death by a brother, Eldred Nichols; sister, Ouida Nichols Allen; and step-mother, Ora Ellen Nichols. She spent her career as an Educator and Principal, mentoring thousands of children. Her biggest accomplishment as a Principal was being in charge of the building of the new Fort Braden School and being its first Principal. She was a fierce prayer warrior, loved her family, especially her grandchildren and thoroughly enjoyed being able to pick them from school.
Survivors include her husband of 73 years, Winston Griffith; son, Winston Nichols Griffith (wife, Mary Lee); grandsons, Nichols Griffith and Daniel Griffith; siblings, Doug Nichols, Howard Nichols, Joyce Alexander, Betty Jackson and Mary Powell; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
