Claire was born in Stamford on January 25, 1930, daughter of the late George and Veronica (Williams) Eilertsen. Claire attended Stamford schools. Prior to her marriage, she worked as a switchboard operator at C.O. Miller’s Department Store in Stamford. Claire was a busy homemaker and mother of four.
