Mrs. Carolyn Wilson Haynes, age 92, of Valley, Alabama passed away on Monday, August 7, 2017 at her residence.
She was born on August 1st, 1925 in Wedowee, Alabama to the late Clint Wilson and Ilona Bradley Wilson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard Jake Haynes.
Mrs. Haynes was a member of the Fairfax United Methodist Church.
She was a proud graduate of Jacksonville State Teachers College, now known as Jacksonville State University. She graduated in 1949 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Mrs. Haynes went on to teach for 37 years at the Fairfax Elementary School. She always said that, “She loved and was loved by many children.”
She is survived by her two daughters, Peggy Haynes (Steve) Thompson, Huguley, Joy Haynes Power, Huguley; sister, Mary Agnes Wilson Messer; grandchildren, Halley Power, Birmingham, Jake Power, Valley; Wil Thompson, Auburn; step-grandchildren, Kelly (Joseph) Williams, Jake (Tori Beth) Thompson; 3 step-great grandchildren; numerous special nephews, nieces, and friends.
