Carolyn Anne (George) Smith, 88, of Tallahassee, passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2021, at Pacifica at Woodmont. She was born in Lithonia, Georgia, on November 16, 1932. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Wesley, on November 19, 2020, and by her son Timothy in March 2019. She is survived by her son Stephen Wesley Smith (wife, Cheryl); daughter, Stephanie Bartlett (husband, John); grandchildren Becky, Carrie, Josh, Chrissy, Alex and Eric and seven great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by brother Jimmy George, and sisters Patsy McLucas and Linda Mooneyham. Her older brother Billy died in 1991. She worked as a bakery manager for King Soopers in Englewood, CO. After a short time living in Virginia, they moved to Florida, living in Havana and Tallahassee for more than 40 years. She had a varied career, including working as a manager in a Hallmark store and in food services at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Lafayette Presbyterian Church. She loved gardening and spending time in her kitchen cooking and baking, and people will long remember her pecan pies and chocolate chip cookies.
