Carol Mina Mayfield, 83, of Tallahassee, peacefully entered the gates of Heaven on Friday, June 29, 2018, at the Big Bend Hospice House. A daughter of the late Arthur Benjamin and Margaret Andrews Campbell, she was born in Sterling, New York on February 21, 1935. She was a retired High School English Teacher, and she was a faithful member at Fellowship Baptist Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing the piano. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Norman Mayfield; children, Marlon (Sharon) Mayfield, Murray (Nancy) Mayfield and Myron Thomas (Kimberly) Mayfield; grandchildren, Kari (Jordan) Myers, Jonathan (Kristin) Mayfield, Joseph (Adieren) Mayfield, Julia Ann (Tim) Horner, Josh (Christiana) Mayfield, Kyle (Katie) Mayfield, Daniel Mayfield, Heather Mayfield, Morgan Mayfield, Mitchell (Minoo) Mayfield, Jason (Chelsea) Mayfield and Amy (Robert) Cummings; great-grandchildren, Jensen Myers, Lydia Cox, Lauren Cox, Elijah Mayfield, Lila Mayfield, Eliana Horner, Anastasia Horner, Elisabeth Horner, Holly Mayfield, Caleb Mayfield, Lynk Mayfield and Audrianna Cummings. Also surviving are sisters, Kathy Johnson and Dee Fields. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Merrill Mayfield; granddaughter, Janna Cox; and five siblings.
