Carol Barbara Kerkstra, 72, of Tallahassee, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2020, at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare. Born in New Haven, Connecticut on May 11, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Paul Edgar Thomas and the late Dorothy Rozalia Heine Thomas.
Also preceding her in death are her husband, James Martin Kerkstra; and brothers, Don Thomas (wife, Lois Thomas) and Paul Thomas. She was a registered nurse, and loved figure skating as a child, even taking lessons in her 50’s. She enjoyed doing cross stitch, watching the Olympics, collecting Betty Boop memorabilia and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Jami Kerkstra (husband, Stephen Ropes) and Katie Forgette (husband, Anthony Forgette Jr.); grandsons, Jackson Kerkstra-Ropes and Wyatt Kerkstra-Ropes; as well as several nieces and nephews.
