Mrs. Bobbie Sue Leverette McCallister went to be with The Lord on Friday, March 25, 2016 at her home surrounded by family.
Bobbie Sue McCallister was born on February 29, 1932 in Pelzer, South Carolina to the late Marcus Livingston Leverette and Nettie Kate Browning Leverette. Bobbie McCallister was married to James McCallister on April 19, 1949. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Bobbie Sue retired from Batson-Cook Co. in 1996 after 25 years of service. She was a member of the Fredonia community club and Upper Room Church. She was the best mother, a fantastic cook and friend and mother to everyone she knew, who had a heart for missions and loving people.
She was preceeded in death by her parents and siblings and best friend Irene Biggs.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, James McCallister of Lanett, her children Darlene (Connie) Haynes of Greer, SC, Rita (Larry) Roberts of Pine Mountain Valley, GA, Raymond (Sandra) McCallister of LaGrange, GA, Shirley (Bill) Johnston of West Point, GA, and Sandra McCallister of Lanett; her grandchildren Brian(Angie) McCallister of LaGrange, GA, Jennifer Calhoun of Dalton, Ga, John Mark Calhoun of New York, NY, Keli McCallister (Donnie Thompson) of LaGrange; great-grandchildren Andrew & Kaylee McCallister of LaGrange, and Cody & Eli Gunn of LaGrange, Taylor Johnson of Godwin, NC, Teva Melvin of Stedman, NC, Jilly Roberts of Elma, WA, and Trevor, Karsyn, and Carli Roberts of Pine Mountain Valley, GA, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
