Her Life

Bobbie Jean Wilson was born February 5, 1935 to Johnnie Boose and Maggie (Stevenson) Boose McDonald, in Lauderdale County, Mississippi. She was the only child born of their union. Johnnie Boose died at an early age and her mother remarried Lee McDonald, and gave birth to her sister, Margie Hunter and Lee McDonald Jr.  Her mother, Maggie, also died at an early age.  Bobbie Jean Wilson went to live with her Aunt Carrie “Lora” Edwards.

Bobbie left Mississippi in the late 1950’s with her first husband and ended up in Indianapolis, Indiana. After her divorce from her first husband, she married Jimmie Andrew Wilson in 1959, and had four children Roger, Theresa, Gloria and Sheila.

Bobbie confessed Christ at an early age and she joined Mt.

Bobbie worked various jobs during her life, but by far, her best job performance was as a caregiver for her four children and her two grandchildren. She raised six children. She also took care of two aunts with health conditions, Aunt Martha McMillian and Aunt Carrie “Lora” Edwards. She was true a loving caregiver.

Bobbie Jean Wilson departed this life on Wednesday August 21, 2019. She was preceded in death by her father; mother; husband, Jimmie Andrew Wilson; her grandchild, Gregory Lamont Wilson; her bother, Lee McDonald, Jr.; her aunts, Lucy  Spann, Leatha McDonald, Carrie “Lora” Edwards, Jewell Stringfellow, Lara Rue, Martha McMillian and Gladis Stevenson, and her two uncles, Jeff Stevenson and Booker Stevenson.

Those left to cherish her wonderful memories and life lessons are her family: children, Roger, Theresa, Gloria and Sheila; eight grandchildren, Tony Lindsey, Anthony Lindsey, Charles Wilson, Jerome Wilson, Phillip Wilson, Gregory Wilson, Shunte Wilson and Donte Wilson; great-grandchildren: thirteen boys, Kwali, Determis, Phillip, Jr., Desean Antino, Ahmad, Ray, Donte, Josiah, Xavier, Jalen, Nino and Kamandi; eight girls, Myara, Madison, Sequnia, Amari, Hazel, Tiana, Nayla Jean, Kiarra; sister, Margie Hunter; nephews, Billy, John and Steve Hunter, Douglas and James Odims, and a host of other relatives and many friends.
