Betty Jean Spivey, 89, of Havana, Florida, went to meet her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 09, 2020.
A daughter of the late Theron Irving and Mattie Lou McKnight Tiller, she was born in Wausau, Florida on September 11, 1930. Also preceding her in death are her three siblings, Mary Louise Whidden, Wilburn Tiller and Grace Ella Chesnut.
Survivors include her husband of 73 years, Rev. Benjamin F. Spivey; children, William T. Spivey (wife, Linda), Carolyn P. Cunningham (husband, Robert) and Rebecca Brown (deceased husband, James); grandchildren, Marie and Harold, and their child, Hallie: Beth and Phil, and their children, Anna, Rebecca, Jessica and Carson; Trish and Scott, and their children, Paul and Emma; Matt and Sylvia, and their children, Mitchell, Harrison and Timothy; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She was a dedicated homemaker and was most proud of her family. In her earlier years, she enjoyed gardening and loved to go fishing. She delighted to serve as a preacher’s wife alongside her husband as they served the Lord for 46 years in many locations. Both she and her husband were members of Saint Paul’s United Methodist Church.
