Betty Jane Moore Ebel, 89, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2016. A daughter of the late Logan Heyl and Katherine Skovboe Moore, she was born August 27, 1926, in Tampa, Florida. She served youth from 15 counties around Tallahassee and Panama City for many years– as the Executive Director of Girl Scout Council of the Apalachee Bend with Girl Scouts of America, now part of the Girl Scout Council of the Florida Panhandle. Betty Jane was, along with her late husband, John Andrew Ebel, a member at Trinity United Methodist Church. She is survived by her son, James A. (Deirdre) Ebel; daughter, Jean E. (Robert) Sharpless; grandchildren, Stephen A. Ebel, Dawn (Dennis) Pfeiffer and Autumn Sharpless; step-grandchildren, Angela Betts, and Jeffrey Sharpless.
