Mrs. Avene Brown Freeman, age 93, of Valley passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at the Arbor Springs Health and Rehab in Opelika, Alabama.
Mrs. Freeman was born on October 13, 1922 in Shawmut, Alabama.
Mrs. Freeman is survived by her daughters, Beverly (Edward) Smith, Lanett, Beth (Steve) White, Valley; grandsons, Timothy Earl, Stockbridge, GA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Freeman, Jr.; sister, Connie Humphrey; brother, Roy Brown.
Mrs. Freeman was a member of the Fairfax First Baptist Church. She had been employed at the George H. Lanier Memorial Hospital in the Personnel Department until her retirement. She enjoyed sewing and making clothes for her family. She was an avid reader and liked to spend time at the Senior Center in Valley. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and her family.
