Mrs. Anna Elaine “Cupie” Behnke Henley of Salem, Illinois, entered her Heavenly Home October 22, 2020. She was born December 3, 1928 in Salem, Illinois, the daughter of the late Herman and Anna (Hahn) Behnke. She Married Paul J. Henley, November 26, 1950 in Nashville, Illinois. He preceded her in death September 19, 1988.
Elaine graduated from Salem High School. She worked as a photography assistant and in retail sales. She is a member of Salem Lutheran Church where she served several years as financial secretary and assisted with Labor of Love dinners.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her brothers Herman Behnke (sister-in-law Pat), Harold Behnke (sister-in-law Katherine), Kenneth Behnke (sister-in-law Velma), and Raymond Behnke, Nephews, Kenneth C. “KC” Behnke, Nieces, Mary Ann Behnke Edwards, Gloria Behnke Harris and Jan Wolf Plott.
She is survived by her sister, Thelma Wolf of Winston-Salem, NC, Nieces, Linda Hayse (Paul), Donna Lane (Jack), Trudy Etienne (Dan Case), Debbie Wolf, Becky Kirby (Mike Noonan), Kim Houston (Leonard) and Cyndie Anderson (Rod). Nephews, Harold W. “Bill” Behnke (Sharyn), John Robert “Bob” Behnke (Sharon), Thomas Behnke (Sharon) and David Wolf (Shelia) along with a number of great and great-great nieces and nephews. She was a kind, loving woman of great faith and will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
