Mr. Winfield J. Stancavage, age 90, of Milford, beloved husband of 65 years to Margaret M. Dubill Stancavage, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on, Tuesday, February 22, 2010 at Milford Hospital.
Son of the late Stanley and Helen Jurewicz Stancavage, he was born in Simpson, PA, on March 19, 1919. Winfield served his country with pride and honor in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He worked at Raybestos as a machine operator, before his retirement.
In addition to his loving wife, survivors include his three devoted daughters Jan Macura and her husband John of Oxford, Paula Smith and her husband Morrell of Guilford and Carol Banyay and her husband Les of Milford, seven loving grandchildren Alicia Martin, John & Michael Macura, Jayne Smith, Lindsay Tilley, Katie & Stephen Banyay and a cherished great-grandson Ryan Martin. Winfield is also survived by his sister Mary Shipskey of Groton. He was predeceased by a beloved grandson John Banyay and a brother and four sisters.
