William Pink “Tab” Dempsey, Jr. met an untimely death on September 12, 2022. He was much too healthy to have gotten sick. But the Lord had other plans and took him home.
“Tab” as he was known by everyone, was born on December 29, 1932 in Menlo, Ga. He attended Rhinehardt College after high school and then married his childhood friend and sweetheart, Frances Myrtle Dempsey, on September 28, 1951, 70 years together. They moved to Doraville, Ga when he got a job with General Motors. He then moved to the Drydene Oil Company as the greatest salesman ever. He remained with that company until he retired after 20 years.
He has a brother, Harold “Bud” Dempsey that is still with us at 97 years young. He has 2 sisters that have passed, Elsie Cooper and Helen Rich.
He has 2 children, Teresa Jean Ross, husband Robert Winfred Ross, of Indialantic, Fl and William Phillip Dempsey of Doraville, Ga., 2 grandchildren, Amanda Leigh April Bradley, husband Gareth Bradley of Jupiter Farms, FL and Brooks Winfred Ross of Atlanta, Ga. He has 3 great grandchildren, Bryce Luke Bradley and Austin John Bradley of Jupiter Farms, Fl and Skylar Loumakis-Ross, USMC.
Tab and Frances danced through their life. They were square dancers and round dancers and Tab was a caller. They traveled on cruises as part of the cruise lines shows with their friends. He was a semi-professional golfer playing with his brother all the way into their 80’s and winning every tournament they played.
He was a jokester and a prankster and loved his family. He loved to laugh and make people laugh. He was always there to lend a hand to anyone that asked. He was kind, gentle and understanding. Always listened but never judged. He was the glue of the family and will be sorely missed.
Mr.
