Mr. William M. Wilcox, age 83, lifelong resident of Milford, beloved husband of the late Barbara G. Wilcox, passed away Monday, April 19, 2010 at the Paradigm Healthcare Center, West Haven.
He was born September 3, 1926 in Milford, to the late Claude L. and Alice M. Bartlett Wilcox. A native of Milford, he was known for his kindness, generosity, and wonderful sense of humor. William proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He enjoyed dowsing, gardening, and was an avid U Conn Women’s Huskies fan and the NY Mets. He was an exceptional machinist who co-owned W & W Machine Company in Milford and was also employed by Micron in Monroe as a plant manager.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Barbara Lynne Wilcox and Debra Gambardella and her husband Ronald, all of Milford, and his grandchildren, Nicholas Gambardella of Orange and Melissa Gambardella of Milford. He also leaves his nephews, Michael Whalen of PA, Jan, Jay, and Bruce Wilcox, and his niece, Sandy Maikowski, all of CT, and many relatives and friends.
William’s family want to thank the staff of Paradigm Healthcare Center for being so caring, compassionate, and supportive through our difficult time. “We came in as strangers and we are leaving as friends”.
