Mr. William (Billy) Coelho, age 56, of Milford, beloved husband of 13 years to Deborah A. Goulette Coelho, passed away after a courageous battle with lung cancer surrounded by his family on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at Yale New Haven Hospital.
Billy was born on April 17, 1953 in New Haven to Rose Fusco Coelho of West Haven and the late Julio Coelho. A graduate of Milford High School, class of 1972, he was a state wrestling and football champion. He was a construction superintendent of Turner Construction in New York City and was the builder of several of the largest building projects in Manhattan, culminating in Yankee Stadium. Billy was director of the Milford Indians Wrestling Club for 25 years until his illness. A loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and a friend to all, he was a man who gave everything but never asked for anything.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his loving children, Gary Gracia, Danielle Coelho, both of Trumbull, and Zachary Coelho of Milford, and a cherished grandson, Kennedy Alicea. He also leaves a brother, Antonio Coelho of Milford, a sister, Rosemarie Soldi of West Haven, several nieces and nephews, and many cousins. He was predeceased by two brothers, David and Michael Coelho.
