MARTIN, WAYNE E.
Wayne Enos Martin 70, beloved husband of JoEllen, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 24, 2012 in Smilow Cancer Hospital in New Haven with his family at his side. Mr. Martin was born on August 21, 1941, son of the late Enos P. and Doris D. Martin.
Mr. Martin was born and raised in Waterbury where he graduated from Crosby High School in 1959. He worked for Stop & Shop for 46 years, having started at the age of 16. Mr. Martin was a long time resident of Milford where he raised his family. He was an avid sports fan and he enjoyed playing golf and being with family and friends.
He was a devoted husband, father, brother, friend, and PopPop. He cherished his role as big brother to his 5 siblings Ronnie Martin of FL, Tom Martin of West Haven, Eileen Lawler of Milford, Janie Mitola of Milford, and Bernie Martin of Milford.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his cousin and buddy, Charles “Chuck” O’Neil. In addition to his loving wife, JoEllen, of 46 years, he is survived by his 3 children, Jeanne Flynn and her husband Mark of Newtown, Mary Jo Bohrman and her husband Roger of Bethel, and Wayne Jr. and his wife Michele of Madison; 6 grandchildren Brianne, Casey, Brett, Patrick, Jake and Lily; and many nieces and nephews.
