Walter D. “Buster” French, 90, of Tallahassee, peacefully passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2018, at the Big Bend Hospice House. A son of the late Henry D. French and the late Della Mae Sherman French, he was born on May 29, 1927, in Johnson City, New York. He faithfully served his country in both the United States Army and United States Navy, and later retired as a tool and dye machinist with RCA. For 20 years, he was a volunteer firefighter with the Malabar Fire Department. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Shirley Estes French; daughter, Cherie Hall, (husband, Doug); and grandchildren, Jonah Hall and Morgan Hall.
