Virgil Grant Thomas, 76, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at Consulate Healthcare.
A son of the late John David and Loma Simmons Thomas, he was born in Lowell, North Carolina on August 19, 1942. He is also preceded in death by brothers, Leonard Thomas and Phillip Thomas. With honor and courage, he served his country in the United States Air Force and later worked in construction. He was also a truck driver, having logged in over a million miles on the road.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley A. Thomas; children, Sherrie Ann Pruitt, Belinda Gray (husband, Willie), Cheryl Griner (husband, Tim), Leon Blomeley, Brian Blomeley (wife, Ginger) and Timothy Blomeley; grandchildren, Jessica Ledford, Robert Ledford (fiancé, Brandy Shaw), Willie Gray, Jr, (wife, Amber), Kelly Armstrong (husband, Chase), Ashley Itzkowitz (husband, Adam), Ashleanna Grassi, Leon B. Blomeley, Timothy E. Blomeley, Brianna Blomeley (fiancé, Marcus Posluszny), Jacob Blomeley, Austin Blomeley, Micaela Blomeley and Joshua Blomeley; great-grandchildren, Asa Ledford, Ainsley Gray, Logan Posluszny, Aiden Armstrong and Grace Posluszny.
