Viktors Zvaigzne, 87, of Milford, CT, passed away peacefully in the company of his family on Thursday, March 18th, 2010. Viktors was born in Riga, Latvia to Katherine and Arvis Zvaigzne, Sept. 13th, 1922.  After World War II, Viktors worked with the United States Army guarding prisoners at the Nuremburg trials. He married Kaethe Boehm in Ludwigsburg, Germany in 1952. In January, 1956 Kaethe & Viktors made the journey from their European homeland to the United States where they became U.S. citizens and lived in NYC for 8 years until finally settling in Milford, CT in Dec. 1962. Viktors was a Chemical Engineer at Gas Equipment Engineering Corporation until he retired in 1989. He traveled abroad assisting in the installation, setup and maintenance of cryogenic oxygen and nitrogen generators to industrial and military customers all over the world.  He worked closely with the Department of the Navy on National defense projects.  Viktors had the opportunity to travel abroad and experience the different cultures and environments of the world and had many interesting tales to tell. Viktors enjoyed fishing, the water, the countryside, soccer and hockey but mostly his grandchildren. Viktors is survived by his loving wife, Kaethe and his three children all residing in CT: Guenther and Joy Zvaigzne of Milford, Sylvia and Kevin Colvin of Bloomfield & Barbara and Paul Horvath of Columbia. He also is survived by six grandchildren – Allyson Colvin, Melissa, Scott, Tyler Zvaigzne, Rachel & Allyssa Horvath.
