Tommie Lee Busbee, 81, of Tallahassee, passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2021. Born in Danville, Illinois on February 2, 1940, he was a son of the late Ben H. Busbee and Frances Charlotte Faford Busbee.

He is also preceded in death by a sister, Pamela Busbee Knott; and a brother, Richard Knott. Survivors include his siblings, Kimberly Bruce (husband, Greg), Kristen Belyew (husband, Andy), Karla Lambert (husband, Mark) and Scott Busbee (wife, Carol); nephews, Paul Joseph Knott and Bradley Busbee. He is also survived by Tilly the Greyhound. While serving in the United States Marine Corps, he earned his pilot’s license.

He later earned a Master’s Degree in Education from Marshal University. While living in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, he served as a teacher and principal at Myrtle Beach High School. In Bradenton, Florida he was the owner/operator of Vessel Assist. He ended his working years in school administration with the state of Florida. He also attained his 100 ton maritime license and was a sea captain at Stolz Comex Seaway.
